Social Impact Tours in Liberia are jointly operated
by Accountability Lab and
by Business Start-Up Center (BSC) Monrovia

Our vision is to create innovative and self-sustaining solutions to combat poverty's root causes, generate incomes & livelihood, and address Liberia's greatest social problems through increased integrity, trust, and accountability

We provide seed funding and technical assistance to a network of Liberian social entrepreneurs, many of which are featured on our social impact tours. By generating cost effective relationships based on trust and cooperation rather than co-optation and dependency, we help our partners build innovative and scalable solutions to some of Liberia's greatest social issues.

Accountability Lab is a non profit organization, registered in the United States and Liberia, that empowers people to build integrity in their communities. The Lab provides training, mentorship, networks, management support, and seed funding to innovative individuals and organizations for the development of low cost, high impact anti-corruption tools. By enabling people to obtain information and knowledge they need to hold their governments to account, the Lab is finding creative ways to unlock the rich potential for political and economic development in some of the most insecure places on earth. The Lab also strives to reinvent the way that development organizations operate through radical transparency; context-appropriate reporting; creative awareness compains; and alternative revenue models.

BSC Monrovia was first established as a project office of a 2009 partnership between the Association of Liberian Universities (ALU) and SPARK; a Dutch International NGO, and is now registered as an NGO to implement SPARK's and other partners' programs. BSC develops education and entrepreneurship programs for young and ambitious people to lead their post-conflict society into prosperity, including business plan competitions combined with business skills training, as well as provide employability and work-readiness/enhancement trainings. They also provide work to build the capacity of Liberian economic and educational institutions so they can empower their own populations.

" We want to show visitors some of the positive things that innovative Liberians are doing to change their society and improve the quality of their lives "

Executive Director of Accountability Lab - Blair Glencorse

SPARK Representative for West Africa - Richard Van Hoolwerff
