The tours start at 8:30 AM at the BSC Monrovia office, where participants are welcome to complimentary tea and coffee as they are introduced to the specific tour itinerary and each of the social entrepreneurs that will be featured on that particular tour. After introductions, the tour moves on to visit the local entrepreneurs throughout Monrovia via an air-conditioned van (water bottles are available on the van free of charge). Each tour will visit 4 - 5 different social entrepreneurs throughout the city.

 

During the dry season, we may offer a combination walking tour of West Point and boat tour of Monrovia. The combination tour consists of a 3 - 4 hour boat ride that showcases Monrovia's skyline and low-income neighborhoods, followed by a 1.5 hour tour of West Point along a 1-mile long stretch of land that is home to more than 75,000 residents. The visit to West Point includes a meeting with social entrepreneur Thomas Tweh and his Community Justice Team, which provides mediation services for West Point residents in conjunction with the existing legal system.

 

At the end of the day, the tour returns to the University of Liberia campus, where tour members are free to ask any further questions or offer feedback regarding their experiences.
